Florida went to a “high value” COVID-19 testing system in which they are testing only for people who are at higher risk of severe illness from the disease. Dr. Kenneth Campbell sent over some commentary on this issue and is quoted saying, “All symptomatic and asymptomatic patients coming out of quarantine or isolation should have a COVID-19 negative test before returning to work,” Dr. Campbell goes on to explain that asymptomatic individuals can still spread the virus and he does not believe this is an effective strategy to reduce COVID-19 rates.
